Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is quinoa gluten-free?
Yes. Quinoa is naturally gluten-free. Botanically, it belongs to the pseudocereals (Chenopodiaceae family) and does not contain gluten-containing proteins. For strict celiac disease, we recommend checking the package information individually, as traces cannot be completely excluded during processing.
Do I need to wash quinoa before cooking?
Our quinoa is already pre-washed, so the naturally occurring bitter saponins have been largely removed. For maximum taste neutrality, you can still rinse it briefly under running water – it's a matter of taste.
How do I cook quinoa?
Ratio: 1 part quinoa to 2 parts water or broth. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered over low heat for approx. 15 minutes until the water is absorbed. Then let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
What does white quinoa taste like?
Mild and slightly nutty, similar to couscous, but with a firmer bite. White quinoa absorbs flavors well and is therefore very suitable as a neutral base for savory bowls, salads, casseroles or as a side dish. In contrast to red or black quinoa, the white one is the most subtle in taste.
Where does our quinoa come from?
Our quinoa is traditionally cultivated in the Andean regions of South America (typical growing countries: Peru, Bolivia) – the original home of this plant. It is packaged in Germany.
How long does quinoa last?
If stored correctly, at least 18 months. The exact best-before date (BBD) can be found on the packaging.
Is the packaging resealable?
Yes, in a resealable stand-up pouch with a zip closure. After opening, press the zip firmly shut or transfer the contents to an airtight storage jar.
How should I store quinoa?
Dry, cool, protected from light – most easily in the original bag or transferred to an airtight storage jar. This will preserve the taste for a long time.
When will I receive my order?
We ship on weekdays for orders placed by 2 PM on the same day. Within Germany, delivery time is usually 1–3 business days. Shipping is free.

HACCP – Highest food safety
With our HACCP-compliant quality management and independent inspection by SGS – one of the world's most renowned inspection and certification companies – Naturacereal stands for uncompromising product safety, even with white quinoa. Every batch undergoes clearly defined hygiene and safety standards: from raw material acceptance to thorough cleaning and controlled processing, all the way to filling and final inspection of the finished package. This ensures you receive a clean, carefully controlled natural product of high purity – without unnecessary additives and with consistent quality. HACCP means structured controls, documented processes, and consistent prevention along the entire process chain – so you can rely on tested premium quality, portion after portion.
Resealable zip closure
The resealable zip-lock closure makes storing our white quinoa especially easy: after opening, you can hermetically seal the bag again after each removal – without clips or additional containers. This protects the quinoa better from moisture, air, and foreign odors, keeping it fresher and more aromatic for longer. At the same time, the closure ensures clean, hygienic removal and simplifies portioning – whether for bowls, salads, or as a side dish. Everything also stays tidy when stored in the pantry: no spills, no transferring, less mess – for more convenience in everyday kitchen life.
Recyclable packaging
When it comes to our packaging, we deliberately ensure that unnecessary material is avoided. Instead of heavy, rigid containers, we use a lightweight pouch, which requires less packaging effort by comparison.
