What does "virgin" mean for coconut oil?

"Virgin" means: cold-pressed, unrefined, without heat treatment and without chemical solvents. This preserves the aroma and natural ingredients of the coconut — you can recognize it by its characteristic, delicate, mild coconut taste. Refined coconut oil, in comparison, is tasteless, but processed more industrially.

What can I use coconut oil for?

Very versatile — in the kitchen for frying, baking, for curries, in smoothies or coffee. Also as a care oil for skin and hair. Since it is more stable at higher temperatures than many other vegetable oils, it is well suited for frying (heat-stable up to approx. 180°C).

At what temperature does coconut oil become liquid?

At around 24–25 °C, coconut oil changes from a solid to a liquid state. In summer, it may therefore already be liquid in the glass; in winter, it is solid and creamy — both are completely normal and not a quality defect. If necessary, you can briefly place the glass in a warm water bath.

Why is the coconut oil packaged in glass?

How long does coconut oil last?

Unopened, at least 24 months. After opening, we recommend using the oil within 6–12 months. The exact best-before date is on the glass. Always use a clean, dry spoon — no bread crumbs or fingerprints in the glass.

How should I store coconut oil?

At room temperature, dry and protected from light. Do not store in the refrigerator — otherwise it will become very hard and difficult to remove. Always use the glass with a clean, dry spoon to maintain shelf life.
